The HBHL Symposium is designed to showcase the work from the best and brightest in brain health research today, at McGill and beyond. First launched in 2018, this year will mark the sixth edition of this exciting event. Join us for thoughtful exchange on our four research themes that will spark new ideas, collaboration and innovation!
Accessibility
The HBHL Symposium is held at McGill’s New Residence Hall, located at 3625 Avenue du Parc, Montreal, Quebec, H2X 3P8.
The building is accessible via ramp, features elevators and is roughly 1,100 metres from McGill’s Lower Campus.
If you have any accessibility requirements we should be aware of, please contact HBHL Project Manager Kim Reeve.
Transportation
McGill’s New Residence Hall is centrally located in Downtown Montreal and is easily accessible via public transit. Learn more about sustainable transportation options below.
REM light rail users, Via Rail, Amtrak, as well as exo (commuter rail and bus) users all arrive at Gare Centrale Station, located at 895, rue de la Gauchetière, 1,800 metres away from New Residence Hall. Please visit the STM’s website for bus schedules and connections to the building.
For Metro users:
New Residence Hall is a 650-metre walk away from the Place-des-Arts metro station, on the Société de Transport de Montréal (STM)’s green metro line. We recommend using the “Access D” exit, at 2020, rue De Bleury, H3A 2J3 (which has elevator access). Exits will be clearly indicated inside the metro station. The green line offers possible connections with the Orange line at the Berri-UQAM and Lionel-Groulx metro stations, which both have elevators that can be reached from street level. Please consult the STM’s elevator accessibility page for more information.
For cyclists on personal bikes:
New Residence Hall offers secure bike parking and provides up to 16 spaces for bikes in the lobby. Guests will need to register their bikes at the front desk on a first-come, first-served basis.
For BIXI users:
Montreal has a unique bike-sharing rental system called BIXI. The BIXI network has more than 10,000 bikes (including 2,600 electric BIXIs) and more than 900 stations spread out across the island. To access, you can either download the BIXI app or you can use your credit card at any terminal. There’s a $1.35 unlocking fee, and users can pay as little as $0.20 per minute of usage. There are several stations near New Residence Hall, including one conveniently located at the corner of Avenue du Parc and rue Prince-Arthur, approximately 100 metres away. To see all stations available near you, please visit BIXI’s station map.
